About Me

Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Michael Moreno is a freelance photojournalist who studied journalism at California State University, Northridge ('25). His passion for documenting life events began when he was living in New York when everything began opening back up in the wake of COVID-19.
Today, he's won a few awards from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges (Best News Photo 2023, Honorable Mention for Photo Essay) and the Associated Collegiate Press (10th place in Best in Show: Newspaper/Magazine Design).
After university, Michael aspires to become a war photographer and eventually settle down as a political beat writer in California.
On his off time, he loves to spend time with his two cats or taking Costco trips with his partner.
“Why was the lens crying? Because it realized it wasn't in its prime.”
